Hi, and welcome to the 7 Easy Steps to Mastering Meditation online course.
Some tips on meditation
- It doesn't matter where you are to meditate, but it'll help if you aren't disturbed.
- You don't have to sit crosslegged or kneel. You can sit in a chair and even lie down, though you may fall asleep.
- If you are sitting, place your elbows by your side and balance your head comfortably on your spine.
- You can either close your eyes or look down past the tip of your nose with your eyes half shut.
It's helpful to realize meditation isn't about trying to silence your mind, becoming the master of your thoughts, or learning laser-like focus.
Remember that the purpose of meditation is to become familiar with your mind.
There's no such thing as a bad meditation. You become more familiar with your mind each time you meditate.
The course consists of seven lessons. I suggest you leave three to five days between lessons, so you can become familiar with each lesson before moving on to the next one.
There's no specific time that you need to meditate during the day. The best time is whenever the best time is for you.
So take it easy. No goals, no expectations. One lesson at a time.
Enjoy...
